Who's behind the operation.

Born out of Appalachia Project HOPE, Proper Villains is built on a foundation of deep experience. Our leadership team represents nearly 100 combined trips to Eastern Kentucky, alongside decades of contracting, engineering, and teaching experience.

We bridge the gap between technical mastery and mentorship, equipping our members to not only grow their own skills but to pass that goodwill forward. We keep our boots on the ground. We know we aren't changing the world in a week, but we are absolutely committed to improving the daily lives of the folks we serve.

Every trip is an opportunity to help others, build practical skills, work as a cohesive team, and find the fun in tackling dirty, challenging construction work through the heat of an Eastern Kentucky summer.
